  • MODULE 1, FEb 12th

    Why do we sleep? What all influences our sleep? What’s stopping you from sleeping? Good sleep hygiene involves increasing practices that encourage and support sleep, while decreasing or eliminating those that discourage sleep. Education on the biology of sleep and principles of mindfulness essential to sleep. Includes a guided practice and a Yoga Nidra Recording for the week.

  • MODULE 2, FEB 19

    How do we sleep? What happens in the different stages? And how to we know when we’re getting sufficient and efficient sleep? Develop mindful awareness of your sleep and learn exactly what to do while you’re falling asleep. We will do a review of the Journal/Tracker, a guided practice and you will get a Yoga Nidra Recording for the week.

  • MODULE 3

    Explore the connection between the way you think, the things you do, and how you sleep. You will identify thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are contributing to the symptoms of insomnia. You’ll also receive autogenic training and examine and improve your relationship to your sensations, emotions and reactions in general, and then apply that ability to your sleep.

  • MODULE 4

    Discover acceptance of your sleep and skillfully and carefully use mindfulness at nighttime in order to support yourself and assist your sleep. You’ll practice strategies for reducing sleep interfering thoughts and worries, managing stress, and for calming an active mind that won’t shut off when you’re trying to sleep and relax.

  • MODULE 5

    Develop confidence in your ability to sleep by seeing how you are successful with the tools. Apply additional suggestions that are helpful for when sleep is not coming easily. We discuss “awareful” sleep, dream awareness, as well as how to train yourself to sleep deeply.

  • MODULE 6

    Reset your ability to be awake, have more wakefulness and ability to attend to things, some emotional stability, and make it better and easier to fall asleep when you want to go to sleep at night. We explore a waking up exercise, the topic of naps (hint, do I have a power nap for you!) and do some journaling about your sleep and waking life.

  • MODULE 7

    We will return to the topic of what we can do to improve sleep from a practical and physical standpoint including mealtimes and strategic light input. We will explore a physical movement routine for sleep preparation and get into breakout rooms for a discussion on all things sleep.

  • MODULE 8

    We’ll put together your SmartSleep system based on what you have learned (tried or not yet) for optimizing your sleep and wake timing, as well as the practices that have helped you so far. We will get into breakout rooms for a discussion on all things sleep.
